Lake Wallowa State Park - April 15 - 19, 2025

  Our first RV venture in the Northwest.  Lake Wallowa State Park, near Joseph, Oregon, about 4 hours from home.  Meeting with good friends Roger & Laurie from Keno, Oregon.  4 days of peace and quiet and maybe some fish catching and eating - we chartered a boat for Friday!  This lake is known for the world's largest Kokani Salmon (landlocked Sockeye). View of the mountains coming through the nearest town - Joseph, named for Chief Joseph - leader of the Nez Perce indian tribe.  He is buried near the lake. The lake was cut by glaciers, only about 3.5 miles long and .75 miles wide, but over 350 feet deep it is very rich in a type of shrimp that the Kokani salmon eat, so they grow very large. Happy Birthday to Laurie, Happy Anniversary to Roger & Laurie! A fishing charter on the lake - going after those record Kokani.  Beautiful day, but only 29 degrees at launch time, sure happy the wind isn't blowing today like it has been. Happy "Catchers", way...
