Maine Trip - August 4 -5, 2024 - Verona, VA

8/4/2024 - Shenandoah Valley Campground - right next to the Middle River (looked like a great place for tubing), beautiful countryside in the Shenandoah Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountins.  The campground is lacking a bit, very crowded, small spaces, no WiFi and almost no cell service.  Cable TV didn't work, so we watched a move!  There were rabbits all over the place, it looked like a dumping ground after easter! The TV guy is supposed to look into the issue tomorrow morning.  We drove around the area a bit and found "The Largest Antique Mall" in the country - over 150,000 square feet of "stuff", it was almost too much to take in, and would have taken days to see it all.

8/5/2024 - This is Virginia wine country so we toured 2 different wineries, both had been horse farms so the grounds were fantastic, the wine was "okay"  Southwest Mountains Vineyard not only was a winery, but also a polo grounds with 2 large polo fields and an arena (looked like a big ice rink) - the tasting room person said that there are several types of polo that they play.  King Family Vineyard was very beautiful, the grounds were manicured, with a huge outdoor patio area.  Both allowed our boys both inside and out.

We found a BringFido place in Stauton, VA were we had a great lunch on the patio.
